Middle-class golf cottages

When the words 'golf course property' are uttered, the images conjured up are of sprawling villas from which you can walk onto a golf course. And such properties are rather popular too, judging from the fact that there are about half a dozen genuine golf course properties in the NCR and every other project proudly advertises its golf practice area.

However, the biggest factor deterring most people from owning a genuine golf course property is its price tag. Admittedly most of the golf cottages are the size of bungalows, but they are also invariably priced upwards of Rs 5 crore. And that price is for a property that is on the fringes of the city rather than at its heart, where of course more expensive properties can be found.

But just as every golfer is not Tiger Woods, not every golf-related real estate is phenomenally exorbitant. This week we look at a project that offers houses by a golf course for as little as Rs 70 lakh. It is not cheap for a 1-bedroom, 1,000 sq ft apartment. But it is one of the lowest prices for a golf course cottage. The project is Tarudhan Valley and it is located in Dadu Village, 11 km off the NH 8.
